However, commercial and institutional solar buyers get something arguably more valuable: accelerated depreciation at 40 percent under the Income Tax Act. This means a hospital that installs a Rs 50 lakh solar system can claim Rs 20 lakh as a depreciation deduction in the first year, saving Rs 6-7 lakh in corporation tax at a 30 percent rate. UPPCL Net Metering for Commercial Connections

Hospitals on commercial UPPCL connections can apply for net metering under the UP Solar Policy 2022 and UPPCL net metering regulations.
